Kyle and Courtney are a classic engagement session success story! They (like 99% of the population) were afraid that they'd be terribly awkward in their engagement photos. Sure, it took a little warming up but SERIOUSLY, take a look through these photos and you'd have no idea they even went so far as to practice in front of a mirror before their session! Or maybe that's why they look so good?! Share your secrets, guys! Actually, I think I built their confidence by being so awkward taking the photos that they quickly realized they were going to be just fine ;)
Anyway, Courtney and Kyle are adorable together. My husband is in the same CRNA program Courtney is in and because of all the crazy travelling that's often involved, she would sometimes stay overnight at our house to avoid having to leave her apartment at 2am. Our front door doesn't close all the way sometimes, and one night/early morning it blew open and Courtney was the only one who heard it. Instead of coming to get us or venturing to close it, she did what any smart person would have done and called her fiance, Kyle, who just so happened to be in California. Haha! (For anyone who doesn't know, we live in Pennsylvania.) All that to say that Kyle seems to be Courtney's sane and safe place in this crazy world, and Kyle cares for her even from thousands of miles away. It was so sweet to be able to see them interact at their engagement session. They love the outdoors and wanted their session to reflect the things they enjoy doing together. Campfires, trekking through overgrown fields, kissing in shaky canoes... the usual stuff. I'm so looking forward to documenting their wedding next year! It's one of two I have on the calendar for 2016.
P.S. For anyone who knows anything about canoeing, I made Kyle steer and paddle the boat from the center of the canoe which I'm pretty sure is highly unusual and ineffective. Anything for the sake of the photos! Sorry if I made him break any unofficial rules of canoeing ;)
