Hi friends! I'm editing the photos from my brother's wedding and I want your opinion on which style editing you prefer. I use VSCO presets to edit in LR5 (it's okay if these words don't mean anything to you, just skip ahead to the next paragraph) and I generally stick to Kodak Portra 160. However I'm kind of loving another preset for many of the photos from this wedding (Kodak Gold 100 Portrait) because it tones down the crazy bright spring greenery and makes the skin tones in the photos come to life in a way my usual preset doesn't. But it also looks more "edited" so I'm torn over which one to use!
Below I've inserted photos edited two different ways. If you want to leave a comment letting me know which edit you prefer and why, that would really help me! Option one is always on the top or left, and option two is on the right or bottom.
One of my main goals is consistency, so I prefer not to use drastically different presets throughout a group of photos, which is why I'm trying to pick ONE editing style. I also prefer a natural, timeless look where the viewers don't focus on the editing, but on the moment the photo captures instead. Editing should enhance, not overtake a moment! In my opinion ;)
Thanks so much for your help! You can click on the photos and some of them will be enlarged to give a better view but this might only be useful on a computer screen.
OH, and I just started using a new system for comments since my previous method didn't notify anyone when I responded to a comment... and it's rather annoying... so I hope it doesn't give too many people issues trying to comment!
